Responsibilities:

Working with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering Technicians within the manufacturing facilities on site, we’ll expect you to ensure that project plans, maintenance and improvements are effectively implemented by utilising modern maintenance techniques.

You’ll ensure that compliance is maintained from both a Safety Health Environment and Good Manufacturing Perspective and that improvements deliver targets via reducing and controlling the variability in the process, resulting in increased robustness and reliability of the manufacturing asset and project plans.

You will collate and analyse data to drive improvement, developing business cases, handling/delivering change using appropriate techniques, contributing to initiatives and projects along with integrating with local and wider functional teams.

We’ll look to you to contribute to, develop and deliver improvement plans across Engineering. This will involve supporting the performance of the asset care and project processes relating to commissioning, availability, performance & output quality delivering improvements and robust problem solving. You’ll support the asset care strategy and associated resources through planning and delivery.

Using lean and manufacturing tools (such as Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and Condition Based Monitoring) you’ll actively participate in and deliver continuous improvement activities and projects.

In the role you will act as a deputy to the Maintenance Manager. The role is aligned internally to the Technical Support Engineer role.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised Training Route such as Apprenticeship to HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in an engineering related field
  • Experience in delivery of initiatives, maintenance best practice and local improvement practices
  • Understanding of Computerised Maintenance Systems
  • Experience in structured problem solving

Desirable Requirements

  • Basic statistical understanding and the ability to produce technical reports and documents
  • Experience in Management Systems, Reliability Centred Maintenance and problem solving tools
  • Experience in delivering change and investigation management
  • Experience of working with industrial processing plant systems in a clean room environment such as autoclaves, ovens, freeze dryers and/or automated assembly/ packaging equipment
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance, Lean and Maintenance Excellence
  • Ideally you will hold a professional registration status with an appropriate engineering institution
  • An Engineering Degree would be desirable but not essential
  • Business Financial Awareness
