Business area – GES

Global External Sourcing (GES) supports the Operations strategy by establishing and handling suppliers across the world that meet our global standards. Through external suppliers, the team handles approximately one third of AstraZeneca’s value of production.

The Critical Materials Master Data project will deliver enhanced data governance for ‘direct’ materials used with the global supply network.

The role

The Critical Materials Master Data project will employ a network of Business Change Managers each with clear accountability for specific Regions and/or Supply Nodes.

The Business Change Manager is accountable for co-ordinating the business change solution to deliver enhanced data governance and data transformation capability for the impacted supply chain nodes scope and/or creating a core set of central processes which will be delivered into each of the respective Regions and Business Functions.

The Business Change Manager(s) will work effectively to coordinate the Regional/Functional effort in alignment with the project deployment plan and will be directed by the Business Lead. They will help to ensure that IT System and Business Process changes are delivered in a way that protects supply and optimises overall benefit to AstraZeneca.

Accountabilities:

  • Planning, co-ordinating and driving business change activities across multiple locations

  • Ensuring Regional/Functional go-lives are on time, in full and with no impact to patient supply

  • Working with the Project Team members to complete analysis and resolution of IT and business process related issues

  • Planning key business change activities such as communications, key business partner management, IT solution testing, training & cut-over activities at each location

  • Planning and facilitating process impact assessment/analysis workshops for impacted Sites/Functions

  • Working closely with IT and Data Teams to ensure impact assessments are all encompassing and appropriate controls managed through to implementation

  • Liaison with the Regional/Functional representatives to develop and deliver an appropriate a cutover strategy

  • Ensuring User Acceptance Testing is robust and rigorous to ensure patient supply is not impacted (activities may include day to day supervision of UAT with accountable personnel in impacted Sites/Functions)

  • Understanding and handle both Business and IT issues which involve high levels of risk

  • Ensure that Business requirements are effectively and accurately translated into solutions

  • Assures alignment to quality and compliance standards, policies and procedures and supports project assurance activities

  • Establish and actively maintain relationships with diverse pools of key business partners throughout AstraZeneca to ensure commitment and understanding to project objectives

Essential Skills:

  • Good communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives

  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language

  • Ability to lead negotiations across a complex group of key business partners

  • Well-developed facilitation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver change (IT and/or Business Process) using core project management tools (ADF, PMF, CMF etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to run delivery through deployed resources

  • Good knowledge of Business Operational processes within SAP Enterprise Resource Planning systems

Desired skills:

  • Experience of operating in more than one Functional area (eg. Manufacturing, Operations IT, Global Supply Chain & Strategy)

  • Experience of working within a complex change programme

  • The role holder must have an overview of the business processes and functions impacted by Material Master Data Management processes

  • Consistent track record in delivering on complex change programmes

  • Experience of UAT execution and/or test management co-ordination is desirable
