 Job Summary

The ERDF funded Centre of Climate Change Innovation (CCCI) is an exciting initiative of the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment, at Imperial College London, and the Royal Institution, to catalyse innovation of all forms that address the causes and effects of climate change.

The centre will bring businesses, entrepreneurs, policy makers, academics and the public together around climate change innovation, creating a focus for London based innovators to implement global change through pioneering, practical solutions. It will provide an essential opportunity to harness the ingenuity, energy and support of people who are committed to tackling climate change and transforming the global economy.

You provide publicity, multi-channel communication activities and event management support for the CCCI.

We are looking for a motivated individual to lead on the CCCI branding project, be responsible for the planning and sophisticated delivery of new strategic marketing approaches to improve the visibility of the ‘climate innovation sector’ as a whole, that can emphasise the position of the CCCI as the home of climate innovation in London.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the branding project for the CCCI, including selecting and being the key contact with the external branding agency, managing the views and perspectives of other CCCI partners, and internal relationships within Imperial.
  • Develop and deliver impactful social media campaigns for LinkedIn and Twitter accounts to cultivate engagement of the climate innovation community in London.
  • Contribute to strategic thinking and planning in relation to communications and marketing at the CCCI.
  • Develop and maintain the CCCI website and newsletter, working collaboratively with the Grantham Institute’s own communications, policy and science translation work and linking to wider London-based cleantech activities, events and news and London-based cleantech support programmes and organisations.
  • Take a proactive role in working with a range of different people at our core partner organisation: the Royal Institution, to develop ideas and deliver events for a variety of audiences including policy stakeholders and the general public.

 

Essential requirements

 

  • Significant work experience in relevant fields: communications and marketing for sustainability, climate change initiatives
  • Proven experience of developing messaging on sophisticated multiple impact projects for diverse audience groups
  • Experience of organising large events, including workshops, lectures and conferences
  • Experience of creating engaging content for websites, social media accounts, and marketing materials
  • Solid understanding of the methods, systems and procedures associated with the delivery of a wide range of communications projects, including digital media, media relations and events
  • Willingness to work flexibly, with ability to coordinate and manage contending priorities in a complex environment, planning delivery in advance, as well as delivering rapid responses to breaking news
  • Detail and results-oriented: committed to delivering complex tasks against ambitious deadlines and on budget
  • Refined project management skills – managing multiple project stakeholders

 

Further Information

 This role is full-time, fixed term to 30 June 2023 in the first instance. You will be based across South Kensington Campus and the Royal Institution.
