What you’ll do
With Therapeutic Area specific domain expertise and deep scientific know-how, this position ensures the execution of the Competitive Intelligence (CI) function, working collaboratively with the broader CI team to shape future-proofed TA and product strategies and deliver sustainably differentiated brands.
With responsibility for supporting individual brands, franchises or disease areas the individual:

Conducts research, analyses data and derives actionable insights

Leverages his or her strong written and oral communication skills to develop and share materials documenting key CI findings and insights
Typical Accountabilities

Designs research and analytical projects, aligning with CI TA lead/leaders on overall prioritisation and delivery and with the CI information lead on knowledge capture

Conducts research, analyses data and derives actionable insights that are shared with the CI function

Responsible for proactively flagging key trigger events in the competitive landscape and driving work on potential implications for AZ

Responsible for previewing and distributing scientific conference intelligence

Responsible for writing regular daily insight flashes for senior stakeholders

Responsible for the management of specific elements of CI budget and TA vendor relationships
Essential for the role
-
Science or commercially related degree
-
Substantial experience in pharmaceutical industry
-
Deep expertise in Respiratory and/or Immunology therapy area
-
Prior, direct competitive intelligence experience
-
Research and analytics experience
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable for the role
-
Advanced degree holders who have a focus in decision analysis, statistics, business or medicine/science.
