The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Computational Statistics and Data Science (Compass) offers a PhD training programme in the statistical and computational techniques of data science. As part of our recruitment for 2023/24 academic year we are holding an open event to introduce potential applicants to the CDT.
Access to Data Science will run on Monday 12 September 2022 and will provide an immersive experience for prospective PhD students. This fully-funded event will be hosted by Compass academic staff and PhD students in the Fry Building, home to the School of Mathematics. The date of this event will enable participants to also attend the Compass Annual Conference held in the School of Mathematics on Tuesday 13 September 2022.
Hear from the first two cohorts of Compass students at compass.blogs.bristol.ac.uk.
If you are interested in attending Access to Data Science and finding out more about the opportunities offered by our PhD programme, please apply here by 15 July 2022.
All applicants are considered on an equal basis in line with the University’s Equality and Diversity Policy.
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, to join us.
A Compass studentship provides four years of tuition fees at the UK student rate, a tax-free stipend of £20,062 per year (plus inflation) for living expenses and a travel allowance to support research related activities. We have 10 of these fully funded studentships available for September 2023.
