Global Supply Chain and Strategy has the end to end accountability for the design and delivery of AstraZeneca’s brand supply chains to ensure patient supply of our life changing medicines. This role involves close interaction with the Science, Strategy and Commercial areas and driving supply chain efficiency through site activity.

BUSINESS AREA

Global Supply Chain finance business partner, support and challenge the AstraZeneca Operations teams. Specifically this role will support CVRM brands, where there are significant market dynamics and movement pressurising our supply chains.

What you’ll do

As the Finance Business Partner, you will provide wide and varied financial support primarily along a number of brand supply chains to:

  • support in-year performance for P&L, Inventory and Capital

  • support strategic decisions like driving long term cost of goods (CoGS), major contractual negotiations, siting decisions for new product and other supply chain strategy decisions such as business development.

  • you will be working with a variety of customers in a fast moving, global environment within the GSC and GES organisations – including Supply Chain teams, Supplier Relationship management teams, Therapeutic Area Strategy teams and the Procurement function.

  • you will provide insightful and commercial input to business decisions, challenge key forecasting assumptions and deliver financial analysis of key risks and sensitivities.

  • in addition, you will also be expected to provide support and guidance to other members of the finance team, as well as building links with the broader Operations and AZ finance organisations.

Essential for the role

  • You will be a qualified finance professional or equivalent with relevant post qualified experience

  • You will have proven financial and management accounting experience within Manufacturing/Supply Chain accounting, this will include experience of negotiating with external partners

  • Strong interpersonal skills will be required as you will be expected to confidently interact and influence senior leaders across a number of functions and also independently work with colleagues in operations and finance based across a number of global locations.

Desirable for the role

  • Ideally you will have cross-boundary experience, including building relationships remotely and cross-culturally

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
