The Oncology Business Unit is a cross-functional, cross market business unit that embodies our value of playing to win by maximising our unprecedented number of upcoming launches in oncology.

Reporting to the Global Franchise Finance Director, we are seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to provide high quality financial management services to the Lung Franchise with particular focus on the Daiichi-Sankyo (DS) Alliance. This global alliance is high profile and has significant value attributable to it.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and leading, in conjunction with DS, the financial planning and reporting of the Alliance, serving as a key member of the finance team. You will also deliver and manage on an ongoing basis accurate reporting to AZ and DS, ensuring contractual obligations are achieved.

As a finance business partner to the Global and US Lung team you will be responsible for providing insight and analysis across the AZ business cycle (RBU, MTP and LTP), partnering with commercial stakeholders.

In this role you will cover the following

Alliance Planning & Reporting Lead

  • Lead Alliance Forecast process for AZ: partner with DS to deliver and own end to end planning cycle, including P&L management and deliverables to senior stakeholders

  • Lead Alliance reporting process:

    • Partner with DS to manage quarterly commercial reporting for Joint Commercial and Finance Committees, working with commercial stakeholders, and Regional finance.

    • Liaise and manage GFS and Collab Finance to oversee month end processes, review any accounting postings & invoices

  • Lead on interplay with AZ planning & reporting:

    • Liaise with FP&A stakeholders across OBU, Region & Markets to drive a well-defined, consistent & cohesive OBU planning process.

    • Understand key assumptions underpinning AZ & Alliance forecasts and be able to reconcile the positions

Alliance Settlement Lead

  • Coordinate & lead the commercial quarterly settlement process.

  • Review all materials & ensure contractual obligations are met.

Business Partnering Global and US teams

  • Global team

    • Work closely with the Global Franchise FD across LTP/RBU/MTP and provide support on performance analysis of AZ and AF forecasts

    • Manage Alliance Revenue forecast models for LTP and MTP, provide insight and analysis to the Global Lung Franchise team.

    • Global Lung Franchise Budget: Prepare & monitor AZ & Alliance budget, partnering with the Global Lung Franchise team to deliver plans in line with target

  • US team: support the US Franchise FD as needed on Alliance & AZ forecasts

  • Partner with other Alliance teams particularly Enhertu; best practice sharing and realising synergies across the DS Alliances


  • Support Markets to ensure Alliance works well locally & help resolve any disputed definitions

  • Continuous Improvement mindset: Identify & drive improvements to ways of working to ensure future sustainability & accuracy.

  • Constantly share best practice & learnings.

  • Drive simplification & standardisation initiatives

Essential skill and experience

  • Qualified finance professional – CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification

  • Experience of both planning & reporting activities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including oral & written

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to use financial systems (Hyperion) and strong Excel skills, to support business decision making

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team & liaising with senior managers

  • Experience of working in a global organisation

  • Experience of partnering with business functions outside of finance
