These builds include a robust global commercial capability to ensure broad access and use of AstraZeneca’s prevention and treatment options across a variety of infectious diseases.

What you’ll do

The Franchise Head contributes to the development and execution of marketing plans to maximise the value of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 portfolio and pipeline. They are responsible for working cross-functionally to lead the development, implementation and measurement of Franchise strategy with a specific focus on opportunity assessments, channel leadership, positioning, messaging, and launch/lifecycle planning:

  • Contributing to the development of all aspects of the brand strategy, with specific focus on market opportunity assessment, brand positioning, messaging, asset planning and maximization for COVID
  • Collaborating with cross-functional partners to bring Brand Strategy to realization through leadership of:
  • Market Research/Insight and analytics
  • Brand positioning and messaging
  • Integrated launch plans
  • Establishing strong alliance with Sales, Corporate Affairs, Medical, Promotional Regulatory Affairs and Access partners, providing input to cross-functional planning and programs by communicating brand strategy and identifying market opportunities and risks
  • Demonstrating ability to motivate, develop, and inspire employees. Ability to clearly communicate brand vision with passion and authenticity to marketing and cross functional teams
  • Establish the go to market model and required customer facing footprint incl. recruitment and management
  • Collaborating and leading without authority across functional areas; organize people, activities, communication & resources around a common goal and to achieve business objectives in a timely manner
  • Creating sustainable, long-term relationships with customer advocacy groups and leader advocates
  • P&L management incl. delivery of COVID Franchise Sales Target and ownership of brand budget, managed within ± 3%

Essential for the role

  • BS degree
  • 5 years Pharma or Healthcare experience.
  • 3 years of Pharma Marketing and Promotions experience.
  • Leadership experience and team management skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects at the project management level.
  • Solid understanding of the local healthcare system pricing and reimbursement,
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to assess and drive results.
  • Successful project management experience with the ability to work across functional stakeholders.

Desirable for the role

  • Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences
  • Experience in Insight/Market Research
  • Experience across product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature)
  • Specialty business experience, including preference in Vaccines & Virology, Biologics, and Oncology
  • Experience in public health tendering and commercial contracting
