The new AstraZeneca Global Operations Lean Academies provide situational learning environments where Lean concepts, systems, skills/techniques and behaviours are brought to life for those within AstraZeneca.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lean professional to join the UK Lean Academy Team, based at Macclesfield, as part of the AstraZeneca Operations Lean Centre of Excellence.
We are looking for you to come and join us for a permanent opportunity as a specialist Lean Coach – supporting the growing global Lean Academy team and helping shape and develop the Lean Academy for the future.
The role will be a blend of office/home based and may involve infrequent travel across the region. As part of a global team, you may also have the opportunity to share learning and travel between the various regional Lean Academy facilities.
In the role as Lean Academy Coach you are Lean leadership exemplar – through role modelling, expert Lean coaching and facilitation in our Reinforcing and Leading Lean Programmes, you drive real value in the business through delivery of the Lean capability uplift in the teams we work with across Global Operations. By utilising Lean subject matter expertise, sharing of experiences, coaching/influencing and business partnering skills, you empower AstraZeneca teams to drive tangible business improvement using Lean methodologies.
You will work with regional and functional Lean leaders and other key business partners to engage them in the Lean Academy approach and ensure that there is sufficient support to fully utilise the Lean Academy capability to drive strategic improvement and a Lean culture within the supply chain, regions, sites and functions.
As a Lean Coach you will ensure standard Global Lean processes and practices, training materials and templates are appropriately positioned in the Academy, clearly and simply signposted so as to promote understanding and use across the business.
Through the Lean Academy programmes, you will deliver best practice adult education, facilitation and coaching to provide an industry leading adult learning experience – including participant support before, during and after attendance at the Lean Academy with manufacturing and non-manufacturing business partners.
You will play a pivotal part as a member of relevant cross-functional AZ and external Lean forums/ organisations/ communities of practice.
Strong working understanding of Production System (e.g. Toyota) concept and its application in industry
Able to demonstrate successful industry related experience in Lean / Six Sigma projects and programmes
Proven facilitation skills and desire to learn about Adult Learning principles
Demonstrable expertise and experience of leading and coaching in Lean methodology
Confident/convincing communicators, adept at influencing change across various groups including the most senior leaders.
Expertise in process & project management & improvement
Six Sigma (or Lean Six Sigma) Black Belt certification
Expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodology
Line leadership experience
Knowledge about Adult Learning and “Behavioural science”
