Our training programme is designed to equip our students to compete with the best in the world in their future employment.

EASTBIO DTP will offer a minimum of 50 fully funded 4-year studentships in bioscience to start in autumn 2022, up to 30% of which will be available to international students. EASTBIO studentships include a UKRI doctoral stipend, plus a training grant of £5,000 per annum (year 1-3; £1,500 year 4) and travel/conference grant of £230 per annum. Note that studentships cover UK-level tuition fees only but some departments may be able to support international fees also.  Please refer to UKRI website and Annex B of the UKRI Training Grant Terms and Conditions for full eligibility criteria.

Applications are for projects advertised across the partnership and based in one of our partner institutions in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling, James Hutton Institute, Moredun Research Institute and Scotland’s Agriculture College (SRUC). Successful candidates will be nominated by project supervisors and shortlisted for interview by representatives from each partner institutions and the EASTBIO Management Group.
