We have an unique opportunity for a PMO (Project Management Office) Analyst to be located at AstraZeneca’s manufacturing site a short distance from the exciting city centre of Liverpool. As the PMO Analyst you’ll report into the Site PMO Lead, and will support the site, budget, project business development, benefits tracking, and site efficiencies processes.

What you’ll do:

We’ll ask you to be accountable for managing the business case development process, ensuring authors achieve content, detail and quality standards, articulating the business value created.

You’ll support project managers/business case authors in ensuring Business Cases are prepared for sponsorship review and supporting the author in gaining sponsorship approval. This will include ensuring business cases are prioritised for PMO and Project Steering Committee approval (PSC).

As the Business Process Owner (BPO) for benefits tracking, you’ll be accountable for running the Benefits tracking process.

We’ll need you to ensure that projects have clearly defined value cases and that progress is supervised during the life cycle of the project.

Comfortable managing and interpreting data, you’ll look after the Visual Management and the Portfolio Management Process across site by providing key performance data and monthly reports.

You will provide business partner support to all functions by coaching, mentoring and developing local project/portfolio managers in benefits measurement and tracking.

With responsibility for handling the monthly capital tracking and reporting at site, you’ll collaborate with the Finance Teams on and off-site on capital budget submissions.

We’ll support you to develop and deliver training to site on the good management of capital expenditure and Good business case development.

You’ll hold responsibility for leading and facilitating the solving of problems and queries related to case development/capital planning/savings projects/initiatives.

Through development and implementation of ways of working, we’ll encourage you to look for initiatives to make the PMO function more efficient and effective.

You’ll represent the PMO function in inter-departmental problem solving, collaboration and improvement initiatives as required.

We’ll need you to articulate the lifecycle impact of the projects/portfolio to ensure that budgetary and benefits are identified and reported appropriately.

You’ll track budget, benefits and effective cost control performance of the site portfolio. This is alongside co-ordinating the overall site savings tracking process linked to procurement, project and budget challenges.

Whilst the PMO Analyst reports in to the Head of PMO and Technical Services, there is a requirement for you to make decisions, within agreed guidelines, on a regular basis and actively manage your own workload with limited day to day supervision.

The role does not have line management responsibility but does require the ability to work and influence within a matrix organisation.

Preferred requirements:

  • Financial competence
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in project related data analysis, management and reporting
  • Proven knowledge in project management techniques
  • Business case development
  • Capital management
  • Experienced in the use of spreadsheets and systems to utilise data effectively
  • A strong communicator with effective interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to others throughout the organisation
  • Good organisational and facilitation skills with a structured approach to tasks
