Job Description

This is a unique, exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Fellow with interest, expertise and publications in cardiovascular disease prevention, dyslipidaemias and epidemiology to lead an array of studies and reviews by joining the ICCP that has a reputation for world-leading research and publishes 30-40 papers per year, at a world-renowned university.

The ICCP research programme directed by Prof. Kausik Ray broadly covers multiple national and international scientific projects in cardiovascular disease prevention and epidemiology, and offers an array of opportunities including leading observational studies on the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Studies Collaboration (FHSC) global registry (the world’s largest FH database of an extensive diverse set of variables on over 66K participants from 65 countries), BETonMACE trial, and Da Vinci registry.

The post will be offered on a full time, fixed term basis for 18 months in the first instance.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of an emerging international collaboration, you will lead an array of scientific studies and accurately interpret findings and their implications on clinical practice, make use of the exclusive ICCP resources including the FHSC global registry, write high-quality manuscripts and grant proposals, and present results at international clinical scientific conferences/congresses. You will manage a varied workload with attention to detail, conduct/lead specialised work assignments, and work closely with the multidisciplinary ICCP team and collaborators both within the UK and abroad with different professional and cultural backgrounds.

Job Requirements

You must have a PhD degree, and post-doctoral or equivalent experience in a medical/clinical field related to cardiovascular disease prevention/risk factors (including knowledge of dyslipidaemias), epidemiology or closely related discipline. You must have advanced skills in research methods and study design and be able to independently conduct statistical and analytical procedures relevant to the post.
