We now have an opportunity for 2 x Switch Managers to join our team. Switch planning and execution is a set of cross-functional activities. Developed to support the successful switch of a product, and/or a product supply chain within the UK Ops Portfolio. It is a step by step process to drive the transfers to completion. It relies on other processes to deliver a supply chain change.

Each Switch Manager holds responsibility for a small portfolio of projects. Therefore building relationships with the key partners in these teams, is critical for collaboration and success in this role. Expect an exciting, challenging and fast-paced environment with a fantastic team and culture.


  • Demonstrating adherence to the Switch Planning Business Process structure, in order to support delivery of the portfolio projects.

  • Scoping the products/SKUs and the requirements to be switched to new packaging, artwork, formulation and API flavour. This will be done through engagement with the cross functional project team; including project management, regulatory, technical, planning, master data, pack change and market representation.

  • Working alongside the Project and Change Experts/Managers and Asset Planners. In effectively managing their long term plans, and leading demands through the APO system for future supply chain changes.

  • Establishing effective working relationships with all partners and ensuring effective communications.

  • Build positive relationships with Commercial Supply Chain, to develop processes and drive standardisation through the organisation.

  • Requirement to complete master data as part of the ICON Workflow set up of new/changes to SKUs required. As part of the switch project and managing future demands through PLOBs (Planning Only BOMs)

  • Understanding of requirements of stock build and plan for switch over, including technical changes and line trials, working with the relevant functions to ensure patient supply is not impacted by the switch

  • Demonstrate projects are executed in compliance with the process through feedback and execution of Process Confirmation.

  • Providing coaching and mentorship to the Project & Change Team in the set-up and maintenance of Switch trackers as part of the Business Process, building and managing meaningful and supportive relationships across the organisation.

Essential Skills:

  • Full understanding of GxP, SHE and other regulatory obligations applicable to project, programme and portfolio delivery

  • Proven influencer and communicator with partners at all levels

  • Proven experience of SAP/APO systems and an understanding of the Regulatory Processes required when changes occur in the AZ Supply System

  • Good solid understanding of database systems (eg: Excel) to develop and maintain switch trackers.

  • Management of a complex and changing workload

Desirable Skills:

  • Greater knowledge of other areas of the Supply Chain would be beneficial, but not essential

  • Experience of working in a Lean environment, and knowledge of Lean principles and tools

  • An understanding of the AZ Project Management (PMF) and AZ Change Management (CMF) processes and tools would be advantageous.
