The Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery in association with Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine is looking for an outstanding network manager to play a central role in the management of the UK-RAS Network.

The EPSRC UK-RAS (Robotics and Autonomous Systems) Network ( was established in 2015 with the aim of bringing together academic centres of excellence, industry, government funding bodies and charities to strategically grow the UK-RAS research base, acting as a portal to work with industry and deliver technological advances for translational impact. It has grown significantly in the last 4 years from 13 to 34 university partners and is still growing!

We are looking for outstanding applicants who can coordinate UK-RAS Network activities serving both academic and industrial RAS communities across the UK and effective international outreach!


Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the daily activities of the network.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • providing coordination and administrative support for the UK RAS strategic advisory board
  • organisation and management of key network events, workshops, and forums, and all external relations and outreach activities.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • You should have extensive experience in coordinating sophisticated multidisciplinary projects, strong industrial connections, and be proficient in using website and social media platforms for network event promotion.
  • Applicants with strong experience and a solid track record are encouraged to apply.
  • A high level of analytical, written and computing skills is required.
