At AstraZeneca UK, we bring life-changing medicines to patients across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of our sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice. If you’re inspired by the possibilities of science to make a difference and ready to discover what you can do – join us!

Our AstraZeneca UK Commercial head office in Pancras Square, London offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country’s leading biopharmaceutical company. It will bring AstraZeneca UK closer to our customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK’s healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AstraZeneca footprint.

AstraZeneca’s UK Leadership Team (UKLT) comprises senior leaders representing AstraZeneca sites and functions in the UK. Led by the UKLT Chair, the group is responsible for ensuring a coordinated approach to AstraZeneca’s UK-wide strategic priorities, focused on Growth Opportunities; Accelerating Innovative Science; and Great Place to Work. The UK Corporate Affairs group (Government Affairs, Policy and Communications teams) plays a central role in supporting the UKLT to deliver this strategy.

As part of the UK communications team, and working closely with the wider UK Corporate Affairs group, the UK Strategy Communications Lead is responsible for fostering a common understanding across all UK sites of the UKLT’s strategic priorities and the relevance of this work to the execution of the company’s global strategy; driving a UK-wide approach to staff engagement; and for developing and implementing external communication strategies (alongside the UK Corporate Communications Lead) to support delivery of the UKLT strategic priorities. In addition, this role will act as the Communications Lead for the UK Issues Management Team (IMT) and will maintain a close network of communicators across UK sites to ensure a cohesive approach to UK-wide communications needs.

The UK Communications Team reports into AstraZeneca UK (AZUK), which is responsible for ensuring patients in the UK have access to our medicines and for supporting the NHS to advance clinical practice to improve patient outcomes. The UK Communications Team is comprised of: internal communications for AZUK; therapy area external communications; and corporate communications (including digital, social and events).

The UK Strategy Communications Lead will report into the UK Communications Director, but will have a broader focus on the UKLT strategy. There will be a dotted reporting line into the UKLT Chair to ensure strong alignment with the UKLT strategy.
